Lagi, Senator Filep Beri Kritik dan Masukan Soal Pemekaran Papua

JAGAPAPUA.COM - Papua resmi akan dimekarkan, demikian ketetapan pemerintah setelah disahkannya RUU terkait provinsi baru di tanah Papua yaitu Provinsi Papua Selatan, Papua Tengah, dan Papua Pegunungan Tengah.

Dengan keputusan tersebut, Pemerintah menyakini melalui pemekaran, Papua dapat mengejar ketertinggalan dan pembangunan bisa dilakukan lebih merata.

Seiring dengan isu tersebut, Megawati Soekarnoputri pun memberikan kritik. Mega melihat, terjadinya pemekaran tersebut karena adanya stagnasi atau kebingungan pemerintah dalam membangkitkan potensi daerah selain dengan cara instan pemekaran. Padahal menurut Mega, isu ekonomi adalah hal yang paling utama dalam perkembangan daerah.

Sejalan dengan hal itu, senator Papua Barat juga sependapat dengan masukan Megawati tersebut. Filep menekankan agar pemerintah lebih berfokus pada perbaikan ekonomi, sehingga harapan menyejahterakan orang asli Papua sebagaimana tertuang dalam UU Otsus benar-benar dapat terwujud.

Namun, Filep melanjutkan bahwa peran potensi dan kekuatan ekonomi bukan satu-satunya faktor untuk pembentukan DOB.

“Katakanlah untuk Papua Pegunungan Tengah, bisa mengandalkan Jayawijaya dengan potensi pariwisata. Atau Lanny Jaya dan Puncak Jaya yang punya potensi kehutanan. Kalau di Papua Selatan ada Asmat dan Mappi yang mengandalkan kehutanan dan sumber daya laut. Tapi apakah hanya itu? TIdak cukup di situ. Kita harus melihat juga bagaimana topografi, kebijakan politik lokal, resiko bencana, keuangan, interaksi antardaerah. Faktor-faktor itu membutuhkan kajian dan riset ilmiah yang mendalam”, ujar Filep.

Menurur Filep, jika potensi ekonomi DOB itu bagus, seharusnya IPM Provinsi Papua tidak berada di tingkat terendah.

“Mimika punya potensi ekonomi di bidang pertambangan yang sangat bagus. Tapi mengapa IPM-nya masih tergolong menengah? Itu sebabnya potensi ekonomi harus didukung juga oleh berbagai aspek lain. Saya mendukung apa yang disampaikan Bu Mega, tetapi saya menegaskan bahwa potensi ekonomi itu harus linear dengan berbagai faktor lainnya,” jelas Filep.

Filep menambahkan bahwa Kemendagri harus benar-benar memikirkan kembali terkait pembentukan DOB.

“Jadi saya juga mau mengingatkan Kemendagri bahwa kita butuh kajian-kajian ilmiah yang lebih banyak dan berkualitas lebih dulu, kalau mau mendirikan DOB. Kita tidak ingin gagal, atau membuat Papua gagal lagi. Kalau kajian-kajian ilmiah belum cukup kuat untuk mendukung pemekaran, mengapa harus dipaksakan? Atau jangan-jangan hal ini merupakan persoalan momentum untuk meletakkan kepentingan tertentu di wilayah DOB?”, tanya Filep menutup wawancara.
