Filep Minta Pemda Perkuat Mitigasi Bencana di Pesisir Rufei

KOTA SORONG, JAGAPAPUA.COM - Wakil Ketua I Komite I DPD Republik Indonesia Dr. Filep Wamafma, SH, M.Hum menyampaikan keprihatinan atas bencana gelombang yang menyapu rumah warga Kota Sorong di kompleks Rufei pantai, Kota Sorong, Provinsi Papua Barat.

Senator asal Papua Barat ini meminta kepada Pemerintah Kota Sorong dan Pemerintah Provinsi, BPBD Kota Sorong dan BPBD Provinsi Papua Barat untuk memperkuat langkah pencegahan (mitigasi) bencana di seputar pantai agar kejadian serupa tak terulang kembali.

Ia juga meminta kepada agar pemerintah mengambil langkah-langkah cepat membantu warga Rufei yang terkena dampak gelombang tinggi. Terlebih rumah warga yang berada di pesisir pantai Rufei terbuat dari rumah kayu dan tiang apung.

"Seharusnya sepanjang pantai Rufei sudah terpasang pembatas ombak sehingga rumah warga aman dari gelombang laut, sebab kalau tidak dicegah maka berdampak kepada mereka lagi," ungkap Filep, Jumat (10/12/2021).

Diketahui, gelombang tinggi air laut melewati batas pesisir Papua dan Papua Barat menyebabkan warga Kota Sorong, khususnya masyarakat yang bermukim di pesisir kompleks Rufei Sorong diamuk ganasnya ombak. Salah satu kompleks Rufei di Kota Sorong terdampak gelombang laut dan air yang naik hingga menghantam rumah warga setempat.

Nampak di Kota Sorong beberapa rumah yang berada di kompleks Rufei Pantai sejak Sabtu (4/12) lalu hingga Selasa (7/12) gelombang laut dengan intensitas air laut tinggi melewati talukan sepanjang rumah warga sekitar. Rumah warga kini rusak parah hingga rumah-rumah yang terbuat dari kayu hancur dan terbawa ombak hingga ke daratan.

Menurut salah seorang warga setempat yang berhasil ditemui jagapapua.com, mengatakan, air belum pernah naik hingga melewati rumah mereka yang berada di bibir pantai Rufei ini. Tak hanya itu, batas ketinggian air juga belum pernah melewati rumah mereka hingga sampai ke daratan pesisir. (WRP)
